Markie is a Chrome Extension for web article highlighting and AI-powered note synthesis. This Privacy Policy explains what data Markie handles and how.
Summary
- Markie stores your highlights and settings locally in your browser.
- Markie does not sell your data and does not share your data with third parties for advertising.
- If you enable AI Summary, Markie will send the text you choose to summarize to the AI provider you configure (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or a custom endpoint). That provider’s own privacy policy applies to their processing.

- API keys: API keys you paste into the extension settings to use an AI provider.
Data collected automatically
Markie does not intentionally collect analytics, telemetry, advertising identifiers, or tracking data.
How We Use Data
